The Day After

Well, I am over at my mother's after spending a couple of days with the rest of the family at the farm. I must say that this holiday actually turned out to be a great one. We all got to visit without any drama and everyone got along. Jennifer and Damen came with both of their kids. Dakota and Montana had a great time playing with Skye and Christian since they don't get to see each other much. Damen's kids got to meet and play with Christian and Skye. Damen has a pretty 4-year old daughter by the name of Shawnie and he has a 2-year old son by the name of Harley. They are both very adorable. Jennifer has put on just the right amount of weight and this is best I've seen her look in years. She seems real happy with Damen and I believe they are getting married sometime in February. I certainly wish her all the best. I didn't get to talk to Heath, but I know he called his mother and the rest of the family got to talk to him and tell him Happy Thanksgiving. Donna and Mom seemed to put the past behind them and let go of any bitterness they had between them. As I mentioned in my previous post, I believe that the holidays are a time to let go of any grudges or at least to put them on the back burner so that the family can get together and be thankful just to have the time to spend with one another. I hope that everyone else had a wonderful holiday! I did use up more pictures on my camera so it won't be long before I will have my pictures developed and posted. Happy Holidays!

Time For My Soapbox

Ok, it's possible that this post could "shock" others but I have GOT to get this off my chest because this has me pissed off. I like to think that I am a pretty understanding person but I have NO sympathy here. There is a family member of mine that I won't reveal his real name to protect the guilty that has me very ticked off. Let's call him "MF" (if the initials fit since I can't curse on here). Ok, so as the years go by, my grandparents and my aunts are not getting any younger. I truly feel that the holidays are times when any resentments or bitterness you have towards the family or a specific family member should either be resolved or temporarily put on the back burner for the sake of the rest of the family. Apparently, MF cannot do that. He has no regard for the rest of the family and he is also punishing his own children because there is no telling how much time we have left to be blessed with our grandparents in our lives. I realize there is nothing I can do to change how he feels, but I strongly believe in Karma and I am glad I am not in his shoes when it comes back around to him 3-fold. GRRRR! I hope he gets what he deserves. Ok, I am done with my rant for the day.
