Games!

SO, I'm confused. Perhaps it's because I was never much of a person who was in to the whole dating-mind-game scenario. Why does someone do the whole cliche' crap of, "oh, it's not you; it's ME" then become surprised when the other person says that they prefer not to stay in contact with them? Even more, they then refuse to respect these wishes and they decide to "visit" them to supposedly return a personal item that they knew was already replaced and was of no significance? I know, I'm rambling but I just don't understand WHY a person ends the relationship and then turns around and refuses to just walk away completely. Is it the whole, "I don't want you but I want you to be miserable and no one else can have you" BS? I am so sick of people misplacing their own insecurities onto others in hopes to avoid their own consequences and to feel better about themselves. Ok, I feel better now :)
