Murphy is not just picking on me

Some of you know that a few months ago I was in a car wreck which did some nasty damage to the driver's side of my car. Because of the body style of the newer VW Beetles, it was not going to be an easy task to repair the large dent as well as my rear suspension which was bent all to hell. I was finally able to turn my car in for repairs last week and get a rental car to hold me over.

Last Friday I spoke with Larry, the body shop owner, and I went out to see how the progress was coming on the car. It looked really good... They just needed to finish the paint and it would be done. Larry was SURE it would be finished on Monday.

Yesterday I still had not heard from Larry so I gave him a call to find out what's up. He proceeds to tell me that he has had nothing but hell with my car (which, you will see, is not my car's fault). Larry said that on Monday they had the car all painted and it looked great. Larry had a bright idea (not) to put the wet bumper on top of the roof of the building to dry in the sun so it would dry faster. He also pulled my car outside for the same reason. Not long after he put the bumper on the roof, it got REAL windy.... Needless to say, the wind caught the bumper, threw it off the roof of the building, hit the roof and side of my car on the way down, then hit the ground. My car was all scratched up and the paint job was totally ruined.

Larry said that his painter was 2 seconds away from quitting his job once that happened lol. Larry, the owner of the shop, is no longer allowed anywhere near my car now. My car is supposed to be all finished today as it was being re-painted yesterday. I am so excited! I will post before and after pictures once I get her back.
