A New Family Member

This post is just a tad late, but I wanted to introduce a new member to the family. Bri (I love this man, he is soooooo good to me) knew that I've wanted a Bearded Dragon for some time. Don't get me wrong, I love my snakes. Lestat, my 3 1/2 foot long male boa, has such a great personality and you can ask anyone.... he's a momma's boy all the way. Tori (short for Purgatori), my female Hypomelanistic (meaning she lacks the gene to produce certain pigments, making her extremely pink in color which is very rare) is finally starting to open herself up to interacting with us humans that co-exist in the house with her. I guess in a way I've always known she could be sweet..... I've just had to learn to be patient and allow her to show her true self in her own time. Her name fits her to a "T" lol. For those that don't know, here's the story behind who she was named after.

Wow, that got a bit off topic.... Our Beardie's name is Adonis. He is about 2-3 months old and he is what's called a Sandfire Bearded Dragon. The "Sandfire" describes his colors. We got lucky because we got him from a pet store for half of what he is really worth. If you're not familiar with these creatures, they have such awesome personalities. They are very social and love to interact with other Beardies as well as their humans. They will actually wave (yes, pick their little claws up and wave) to each other as well as humans. Ok, here are the pictures.....

Yep, I love them! Isn't it sweet that Brian got him for me? Hey, they don't bark, meow, get in to the trash, poop and pee every day...... and they out-live cats and dogs :)
